Orange Park Animal Hospital at Oakleaf provides comprehensive services. We have everything your dog or cat needs to stay their healthy best or get them back on the right, healthy track.
Led by Dr. James Gillen, our hospital emphasizes wellness programs and affordable plans for our valued pet parents in Orange Park, Oakleaf Plantation, NAS Jacksonville, and greater northeastern Florida.
Consistent visits for a “nose-to-tail” check conducted by Dr. Gillen are fundamental to keeping your pet healthy and feeling great. It is generally advised that all of our furry patients visit us at least annually, even if they seem fine to you. We want to stay ahead of problems. There may be changes occurring internally that could adversely affect your pet’s health later on.
In addition to conducting a full exam, Dr. Gillen can discuss and administer any preventative services. For instance, we must ensure your pet is up-to-date on vaccinations to protect against potentially deadly and contagious diseases. As needed, we lean into our full-service onsite lab. Blood tests, for example, may be ordered to investigate suspected anomalies further or to rule out certain conditions.
Preventative services that can be done simultaneously with your wellness visit include the painless insertion of a microchip. “Chipping” provides peace of mind that you will be reunited with your pet should they ever get lost. Dr. Gillen can also conduct a dental cleaning to remove destructive plaque build-up and harmful bacteria. Just as with people, animals are at risk of all sorts of serious complications due to oral health problems.
Conditions like decay and gum disease can affect nutrition and digestion and even make existing systemic diseases worse.
Protecting your pet from disease and threats to their health is the right thing to do. It is also the most affordable thing to do. It costs substantially more to treat problems that have already developed. To further encourage wellness, Orange Park Animal Hospital at Oakleaf also provides wellness plans for puppies, kittens, and adult dogs and cats. These plans cover exams, vaccinations, parasite screening and deworming, and other diagnostic and preventative services. We also offer discounts on other medical services not covered within your pet’s plan.
We welcome any questions you may have about these plans. Call (904) 560 8006 to reach our team in Jacksonville, FL. We appreciate that financial concerns can be a barrier between your pet and the quality, ongoing care they need. So, every effort is made to remove these obstacles with fair pricing, affordable proactive services, and cost-saving wellness plans.
